Farmer in Chief

The Brockman family are central Illinois farmers who have created a new website asking for nominations for a White House farmer. The site is in response to Michael Pollan's October, 2008 "open letter" to the next U.S. President (who we now know is Barack Obama), called "Farmer in Chief."

So check out the site and vote for a nominee or submit a nomination. Also, please take the time to read Pollan's letter. Pollan is the foremost local and organic food advocate in the nation and he makes a compelling argument as to the many benefits of having a small farm right on the White House lawn.

So the more nominations, the merrier; and the more votes, the better. Help send a message to the President-Elect about this country's abundant and diverse natural resources and the importance of ecological diversity along with fresh and healthy food.
